Our mission is to serve and spread the chess community in the Southwest Florida area, uniting our members to learn, compete, and connect.

We believe that everywhere is a great location to play chess and we aim to establish the Southwest Florida area as the premiere location in the world to play chess.
The scope of our chess offerings, online and in-person, allows us to serve as a chess community hub for Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties. The Manasota Chess Center has more than 100 members, and continues to grow. We are the only active US-Chess Federation affiliate in the Sarasota metro area and one of only fifteen US Chess Federation Gold-level affiliates nationwide.
